The Purdue men’s basketball team was up by one point at halftime, but number-two Michigan proved to be too much for the Boilermakers in the second half.

The Wolverines won the game 68-53 last night in Ann Arbor.

Terone Johnson led the Boilers with 14 points.

DJ Byrd had 11 and Rapheal Davis added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Purdue falls to 10-9 overall, 3-3 in the Big Ten.

The Boilers host Iowa Sunday afternoon at 3:30 in Mackey Arena.

Purdue women beat Northwestern

Courtney Moses scored 26 points to lead the 15^th-ranked Purdue women's basketball team to a 77-73 win over Northwestern last night at Mackey Arena.

Sam Ostarello added 10 points and 16 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season.

Head coach Sharon Versyp says getting 16 points off the bench from freshman forward Taylor Manuel was a key to the win.

The Boilers improve to 5-1 in the Big Ten, 16-3 overall.

They play at number-25 Michigan State Sunday afternoon.

OSU routes Purdue, 58-14, in Heart of Dallas Bowl

Purdue's football season came to an end, Tuesday, with a 58-14 loss to Oklahoma State in the Heart of Dallas Bowl. The Boilers ended the year 6-7 and have not had consecutive winning seasons since 2006 and 2007. WBAA's Sam Klemet reports from Dallas on what the game means for the team now and moving forward.

A freshman helped Purdue’s men’s basketball team get back on track.

A.J Hammons scored a team-high 15-points in the Boilermakers 66-56 win over Ball State.

Terone Johnson chipped in 14-points and D.J Byrd and Ronnie Johnson both scored eleven.

The victory ends a two game skid for the team.

Ball State led in the second half, before Purdue pulled away. Lafayette-native Jesse Berry led the Cardinals with 22-points.

The Boilermakers get a week-and-a-half off, before welcoming William and Mary to Mackey Arena, December 29^th.

Purdue welcomes new coach, Hazell

When Purdue Athletics Director Morgan Burke first met Darrell Hazell, he was a little bit surprised at the man standing in front of him.

"I thought he was going to be taller," Burke joked.

So far in his career, there has been no task too tall for the new Boilermakers Head Football Coach.

Purdue hires new football coach

Darrell Hazell is Purdue’s new head football coach.

Athletics Director Morgan Burke announced the hiring in a news release Wednesday morning and Hazell will be formally introduced at a news conference on campus Wednesday night.

Hazell comes from Kent State, where he’s led the program for two years and has a record of 16-9. Terms of the agreement have not been announced.

Hazell replaces Danny Hope, who was fired November 25^th after four years as head coach.

Purdue to play in Heart of Dallas Bowl

The Purdue football team is heading to Texas for its final game of the season.

The Boilermakers will play Oklahoma State in the Heart of Dallas Bowl, January 1st.

Xavier tops Purdue 63-57

Purdue went six minutes in the second half against Xavier without scoring a point. That stretch allowed the Musketeers to turn a two point deficit into a six point lead and they were able to hold on for a 63-57 win in Mackey Arena.

"I think we had consistency as far as playing hard, in the first half. We out rebounded them and things like that. The ball just wasn't going in. It just came down to taking bad shots at bad times and that gave them points," said Terone Johnson. "Not being disciplined is why we lost today."
