Donnelly Expecting Productive GOP-Controlled Senate

he Republican takeover of the Senate means Indiana‘s Joe Donnelly will be in the minority after new members take office in January.

But the freshman Democrat is sounding an optimistic note about the transition.

Donnelly predicts centrist senators will drive the agenda in the new Congress, and says he expects a productive Senate under new Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

"I just want to make sure everyone keeps focusing on jobs and opportunity," says Donnelly. "My goal is every day how do we make sure every Hoosier family feels more economically secure, feels like their job is getting better and stronger."

Donnelly is renewing his support for the Keystone X-L oil pipeline, which Republicans have signaled will be among their first priorities.
