Master Trooper Ann Hampton is now a sergeant with the Indiana State Police.

She will serve as a district squad leader of the Lafayette Post.  In this new capacity, Sgt. Hampton will oversee the day to day activities of the road troopers assigned to her squad.

A graduate of Knox High School in Starke County, Hampton went to Purdue University and received a degree in Law and Society.  She graduated from the Indiana State Police Academy in 1995 and was assigned to the Lowell Post and worked the gaming boats.  Two years later, Hampton transferred to the Bremen Post where she worked Marshall County.  While working at Bremen, she was on the Tactical Intervention Platoon, was a Field Training Officer, and worked Post Command.

In 2008, Hampton transferred to the Lafayette Post and has worked the road in Tippecanoe and Clinton counties and has spent time as midnight Post Command.  She also worked several Indiana State Police Law camps.  As a counselor at the camps, Hampton helped mentor young Hoosiers in what it is like being and Indiana State Trooper.
