Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski announces student trip to Ota, Japan

About a half dozen high school students and recent graduates from Lafayette are going to Japan this summer.

The group will travel to the city’s sister city there, Ota.

Sally McIntire is on the Greater Lafayette Sister City Committee.

She says the goal of the trip is to encourage universal acceptance and broaden the young people’s horizons.

Between five and seven students will be chosen for the week long trip in June.

The application deadline for those interested is April 1st

McIntire says students from Ota have come to Lafayette about 100 times.  She says another delegation is expected to come in August.
