LPD Prepares for Old Ford School Move-In

The Lafayette Police Department expects to start using its new training facility sometime next spring.

The LPD is moving some operations into the old Ford School at 14th and South Streets.

Chief Don Roush says the building will benefit departments throughout the region.

Lafayette bought the facility this fall from the Lafayette School Corporation.

Roush says it also will be used for office space, including some street crime investigation units.

He expects about 15 staff members to work out of the facility.
