Purdue announces two buildings for Life and Health Sciences Park

Purdue is celebrating plans for two new buildings.

Lyles-Porter Hall will house the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, the Indiana University School of Medicine-Lafayette, and other health programs.

The $54-million facility will have an attached parking garage.

The $25-million Drug Discovery Building will house researchers from various areas of study to further the university’s pharmaceutical development efforts.

Both buildings will be located in the newly designated Life and Health Sciences Park on the south side of campus.

President France Cordova says the projects will expand interdisciplinary learning.

Construction will begin this summer, with both buildings scheduled for completion in 2014.

Funding is coming from a combination of private gifts and proceeds from bonds.
