The woman who’s been the Purdue women’s basketball coach for the last eight seasons now has a contract to remain in that job for another six.

Sharon Versyp has signed a contract extension through the 2019-2020 season. Since becoming coach, Versyp’s teams have won 184 games – that’s just 22 fewer than the program won during the tenure of its all-time winningest coach, Lin Dunn, who now coaches the NBA’s Indiana Fever.

Versyp is the school’s third-highest-paid employee, making just less than $600,000 per year and trailing only men’s basketball coach Matt Painter and football coach Darrell Hazell on the Purdue pay scale. Purdue Athletics officials did not immediately return a call seeking comment on what Versyp will make during her contract extension.

The Boilermakers have twice advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament during Versyp’s time at the helm and have won four Big Ten regular season championships since she’s been coach.
