State education officials want $4 million from CTB, the testing company they blame for problems with last year’s ISTEP test, arguing the company did not fulfill its contract when it delivered test scores months late.
“Because of the damages that we’ve identified that happened during the actual school year and the administration of the test,” Ritz says.
The education department sent a “demand letter” requesting the money in June. So far, there’s been no response.
A spokesperson for the education department says they have been working closely with the attorney general, but no formal lawsuit has been filed yet.
