TOP And Lab Bands 10/12 Concert Preview

The Tower of Power (TOP) Band and Lab Jazz Bands I & II perform this Friday evening at Loeb Playhouse. The diverse program is led by Scott Pazera and Mo Trout. WBAA’s John Clare spoke to Pazera and Trout about the performance.

The Purdue Jazz program under the direction of Dr. M.T. “Mo” Trout, consists of 6 jazz bands, including the premier Purdue Jazz Band, American Music Repertory Ensemble (AMRE), Lab Jazz Band I, Lab Jazz Band II, Tower of Power band, and the Guitar & Saxophone Ensemble, as well as numerous jazz combos and vocalist spots. From international travel to sharing the stage with world class performers, the Purdue Jazz program offers endless opportunity.

John Nasukaluk Clare is comfortable behind a microphone, streaming video or playing violin. A former broadcaster for NPR, John has previously worked with Voice of America, the Canadian Broadcast Corporation and stations in Texas, Kansas, Nevada, California, and Pennsylvania. In 2005, Clare earned the Deems Taylor Award from ASCAP for radio broadcasting, citing his work on 20/20 Hearing. Having performed with famed tenors Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli, John has worked with the Mozart Festival Texas, Mid Texas Symphony, Nevada Chamber Symphony, Shreveport Symphony, Abilene Philharmonic and Wichita Symphony Orchestra.
