WBAA Arts Spotlight: Global Fest

Global Festis a street festival around the Morton Community Center (Columbia at Chauncey Street in West Lafayette) celebrating 23 years this September. Explore world cultures through music, dance, crafts, displays and international food. WBAA's John Clare spoke to Bess Witcosky, Director of the Morton Center about this year's lineup.

Find out more here. Continuous stage entertainment, cultural displays, and children’s activities are among the free activities. New to the festival this year—the inclusion of the 43rd International Food Bazaar, featuring delicacies from all around the world. The festival takes place September 14th & 15th, 2018.

John Nasukaluk Clare is comfortable behind a microphone, streaming video or playing violin. A former broadcaster for NPR, John has previously worked with Voice of America, the Canadian Broadcast Corporation and stations in Texas, Kansas, Nevada, California, and Pennsylvania. In 2005, Clare earned the Deems Taylor Award from ASCAP for radio broadcasting, citing his work on 20/20 Hearing. Having performed with famed tenors Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli, John has worked with the Mozart Festival Texas, Mid Texas Symphony, Nevada Chamber Symphony, Shreveport Symphony, Abilene Philharmonic and Wichita Symphony Orchestra.
