Moore receives endorsement

One of the Democrats running for the party’s nomination in the 4th Congressional District is getting more support.

Lester Moore picked up the endorsement of David Sander, who ran unsuccessfully for Congress during three previous elections.

Moore is a retiree from Morocco, who served one-term as Newton County assessor. He says campaign issues include reversing the trend of exporting jobs, stopping the privatization of Social Security, and protecting Medicare.

Moore has been active in Newton County’s Democratic Party throughout his career with NIPSCO.

Tara Nelson also is running in the 4th Congressional District primary race.  The deadline to file as a candidate is noon Friday, Feb. 10th.

Congressman Todd Rokita is seeking re-election and has no Republican challenger.
