Public can help TSC schools move forward

Two Tippecanoe School Corporation schools are preparing to open in alternative locations Monday and teachers and administrators are asking for the public’s help.

Southwestern Middle and Mintonye Elementary schools were severely damaged in Sunday’s storms.

TSC officials say it will be six months to a year before the buildings will be usable.

In the meantime, pre-kindergarten through sixth graders will be moving into space at First Assembly Community Ministries on Beck Lane.

Seventh and Eighth graders will occupy a wing at Wea Ridge Middle School.

Teachers have spent the past week setting up their temporary classrooms.

They have created a wish list of supplies that will help them prepare.

The school corporation can only accept items on the list or cash donations.
