Tippecanoe County will spend one-million dollars this year on drainage infrastructure and improvements.
Council members approved the additional appropriation this morning.
County Surveyor Zach Beasley says projects will open up more than one-thousand acres just west of Interstate-65 for development by improving stormwater drainage while reducing the risk of downstream flooding.
The money for the project is coming from the Economic Development Rainy Day Fund.
Another two-million dollars from those reserves will be used to resurface close to 20 miles of County roads and reconstruct two bridges and several culverts.
