Frankfort launches Neighbors Helping Neighbors

The city of Frankfort is helping the elderly and disabled improve their homes.

The Building Inspection and Parks and Streets departments are offering free evaluations for those residents.

Mayor Chris McBarnes says identifying problems such as mowing and gutter needs gives the city an opportunity to make corrections and improve the community as a whole.

The effort is called Neighbors Helping Neighbors.

McBarnes say other Frankfort organizations are offering volunteers to make improvements to the homes that need them.

The departments are doing two inspections per week and are scheduled for home visits through the first week in May.
