Like many other places around the country, Purdue played host to protests in the wake of the 2016 presidential election.

These were peaceful demonstrations which ended with supporters of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump shaking hands after airing their feelings.

On this Monthly Conversation with Purdue President Mitch Daniels, we’ll ask about fallout from the election, including why Purdue’s leader immediately shot down speculation he’d accept a post in the Trump Administration and whether the possible repeal of the Affordable Care Act could affect Purdue’s medical coverage policies.

Also on this month’s program, President Daniels has lauded efforts to lower the percentage of international enrollees in the student body.

But the number of foreign students is actually up in this year’s accounting. Meanwhile, the percentage of Hoosier students continues to fall.

So is it clearer than ever that Purdue is paid for by – and increasingly serving – mostly non-Hoosiers?
