Blizzard Warning for White, Cass counties

The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for White and Cass counties from Sunday night until Monday 7 a.m.

Meteorologists say heavy snow will taper off Sunday night with total accumulations of ten to 16 inches. The winds will increase to 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts up to 40 miles per hour. They say the result is blowing and drifting snow overnight with blizzard conditions.

Temperatures are expected to drop drastically overnight with lows between five and 15 degrees below zero. Wind chills between 30 and 45 below zero are possible through Tuesday.

The National Weather Service reports the greatest dangers will be impassable roads, low visibility and frost bite and hypothermia occurring within minutes.
