Boilermakers Blow Out Ohio University 95-67

Coming off a close loss to Notre Dame, the Purdue men's basketball team came home and played like they had something to prove against the Bobcats from Ohio.

With the offense coming almost exclusively from Carsen Edwards vs the Irish, where he scored 40 points, an effort was made to get others involved early and often.

Thankfully for Purdue, senior guard Ryan Cline got himself out of a shooting funk that had plagued him for the past few games, in which he went only 2-19 from beyond the arc.

When asked about what sprung him out of the fog, Head Coach Matt Painter credited Cline for not pressing and finding his rhythm.

Cline finished the game with 19 points and went 5-8 from three point range. Edwards finished with 30 points to lead all scorers and also chipped in five assists. Trevion Williams led Purdue in rebounds with eight in just 12 minutes of play.

The Bobcats were lead by Teyvion Kirk and Ben Vander Plas, who both scored 15 points.

Purdue let its defense lead the way, swiping nine steals and generating a 17-4 advantage in fast break points. In total, the Boilers scored 21 points off turnovers.

Purdue will return to Mackey Arena to play Belmont on December 29, before resuming conference play with three straight games against teams currently ranked in the top 25.
