Buzz Aldrin speaking at Purdue Oct. 16

The second man to walk on the moon will be at Purdue Oct. 16.

Buzz Aldrin will be discussing his latest book “Mission to Mars: My Vision for Space Exploration,” and signing copies following the event. In the book, Aldrin calls for investing in space exploration of Mars, specifically – establishing routine trips there and back, and permanent settlements on the planet.

The 83 year old performed the first successful spacewalk in 1966.  He walked on the moon in 1969 with Purdue alumnus Neil Armstrong.

Aldrin’s talk is Wednesday, October 16 at 7 p.m. in the Purdue Memorial Union’s South Ballroom. No tickets are needed and seating is first come first served.

Aldrin is the author of eight books, including a best-selling autobiography and children's books.
