The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette is giving nearly $95,000 to area non-profits.
The money is from the organization's Tier One Discretionary Grants.
Riggs Community Health Center is receiving the largest amount of $40,000.
CEO Veronique LeBlanc says it will help purchase women’s health and prenatal equipment, as well as mobile computer tables for the new facility being built on South Street.
The Community Foundation received about 650-thousand-dollars in grant requests.
Lafayette Family YMCA, Lafayette Urban Enterprise Association, and Tippecanoe County Child Care are each receiving $15,000.
The Y will use its share to improve the security system at its Straight Arrow Day Camp. The Urban Enterprise Association is putting its funds toward a Shelter at South Tipp Park.
Marilyn Redmon is the Executive Director of Tippecanoe County Child Care. She says her organization is using the money for computer servers and workstations which will help operations run more smoothly.
The other grant went to the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra. It is for about $9,500 and will help cover half the cost of a new projector.
It will be used for various shows, including some 3-D features.
