Daniels elected to Commission on Presidential Debates

The Commission on Presidential Debates has chosen Purdue’s president as one its new members.

In addition to Mitch Daniels, former ABC World News anchor Charles Gibson, former U.S. Senator Olympia Snowe, and former Pentagon and CIA chief Leon Panetta are among those recently elected to serve on the nonpartisan commission.

The group is charged with producing the presidential and vice presidential debates, including negotiating terms with the candidates and picking the moderators.

The commission has already started planning for the 2016 debates and will announce its site selection guidelines in January.
