The victim of a hit-and-run in Lafayette has been identified.
Police say 46-year-old Mark Lee Brummitt was hit by a car while walking on the 2200 block of Union Street Tuesday night.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are searching for the driver they say fatally struck Brummitt before fleeing the scene.
The make and model of the vehicle is not yet known, but it believed to have a broken passenger front headlight and possible damage to the hood.
