Local and state housing figures promising

Housing figures in Tippecanoe County are outpacing the state numbers, but both are improving.

Statewide sales were up more than 12-percent last month compared to March 2011.

However, in the county, sales improved by about 29-percent in that same span and prices jumped more than 7.5-percent

The average price of all homes sold in Indiana last month was 4.5-percent greater than twelve months prior.

And, homes sold throughout the first quarter of the year are going for about 2.5-percent more than in the first part of 2011.
