LSC begins new strategic planning process

The Lafayette School Corporation’s current strategic plan is five years old, and is set to expire at the end of 2012.

Superintendent Les Huddle says the new strategy should come as a smooth transition from its predecessor.

"We want to look at more of a revision than a total wipeout. Again, there are some things accomplished that were in the current strategic plan that we'll be able to pull out. There are some things that weren't accomplished that we need to check and see if they're still a priority."

He says as corporation officials craft the new plan, they will adhere to a “four D” approach: discover, dream, design, and deliver.

Huddle thinks having a total revision done by March of 2013 is an aggressive timeline.

"But I would rather put that timeline so we can maintain the focus as opposed to putting it out a year, year and a half from now."

LSC officials plan to seek community feedback to help write the new strategic plan. They say they will start the process by gathering data.
