WBAA Arts Spotlight: Lafayette Farmer's Market

John Clare speaks to Emily Colombo about the opening of the Farmer's Markets in West Lafayette, Purdue, and Lafayette. The markets showcase local food, crafts, and entertainment. It's a tradition that is over 165 years old in Lafayette.

West Lafayette - Cumberland Park, opens today, May 3rd
Runs May to October, Wednesdays 3:30 - 7:00 PM

Purdue - Northwestern corner of Memorial Mall, opens Thursday, May 11th
Runs May  to July, Thursday 11am to 2pm; August to October, 11am to 3pm

Lafayette - 5th street between Main and Columbia, opens Saturday May 6th
Runs May to October, Saturdays 8am to 12:30 pm
 

John Nasukaluk Clare is comfortable behind a microphone, streaming video or playing violin. A former broadcaster for NPR, John has previously worked with Voice of America, the Canadian Broadcast Corporation and stations in Texas, Kansas, Nevada, California, and Pennsylvania. In 2005, Clare earned the Deems Taylor Award from ASCAP for radio broadcasting, citing his work on 20/20 Hearing. Having performed with famed tenors Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli, John has worked with the Mozart Festival Texas, Mid Texas Symphony, Nevada Chamber Symphony, Shreveport Symphony, Abilene Philharmonic and Wichita Symphony Orchestra.
