Weather causing delays in Loeb Stadium renovation

The first phase of the Loeb Stadium renovation project will take longer to complete.

The work was expected to wrap up March 1, but that’s been pushed back to March 15 due to weather delays.

Jeremy Duff with KJG Architecture outlined the need for an extension to Lafayette Park Board members.

“It’s been challenging to complete our projects because of the extreme weather conditions,” Duff said. “We’re working with outdoor projects and the snow doesn’t make construction easy.”

Repairs and waterproofing as well as building a new locker room are the projects slated for Loeb Stadium this year.

Both projects have had unforeseen complications including an underground wiring issue and lack of lighting.

Kettlehut Construction officials said that will raise the cost of the projects to roughly $285,000. Duff said there is nearly $10,000 left in contingency funds.
