Indiana’s only high school for students recovering from drug and alcohol addiction wants to move closer to downtown Indianapolis.

Hope Academy is seeking a new charter from the mayor’s office that would allow it to open within the Indianapolis Public Schools boundary. The school also wants to partner with the district.

The U.S. Department of Labor announced Tuesday it’s granting Indiana between $1.5 million and $4.7 million to combat the ongoing effects of the opioid crisis. It will create disaster-relief jobs to treat drug use and addiction.
