Indiana’s unemployment rate for April skyrocketed to almost 17 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Friday. That is, by far, the highest level of unemployment ever recorded in the state.

A resolution passed by in the House Monday would honor those killed or injured at work. It would formally recognize April 28 as Workers Memorial Day.

The number of union members continues to shrink in Indiana, according to new data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That’s despite the number of union-represented jobs rising.

Numbers released this week showed widespread declines in manufacturing productivity across the country last year.

New data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration shows the wind industry is stronger than ever. The amount of installed wind energy overtook hydroelectric for the first time at the end of 2016, to lead U.S. renewable energy capacity.

That news follows a December report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics which projects wind turbine technician is the fastest growing occupation for 2014-2024.
