Lafayette Fire Department

Brother N Others fire investigation

Feb 10, 2012

A fire that destroyed a bar on the north side of Lafayette does not seem to be intentionally set.

Although, officials say it’s still early in the investigation of the blaze at Brothers N Others on Sagamore Parkway North.

The fire department responded to the call around 2:30 a.m. Friday. The business was closed at the time and no injuries were reported.

A fire destroyed a nearby bar in September, 2010, as well. However, officials believe the fire at Cox’s Pub was intentionally set.

Doyle Tapped as Lafayette Fire Chief

Jan 3, 2012

Lafayette’s interim fire chief is taking over permanently.

The city announced Richard Doyle as the department’s new leader.

Five candidates were up for the position, but Mayor Tony Roswarski says Doyle’s experience set him apart.

Doyle has served in the department for nearly three decades.

He says the foundation of the Department is sound, but he hopes to enhance its presence and involvement.

He worked as the interim chief after Jim Morrow was demoted to lieutenant last month.
