Fall Concert Series
WBAA & Delphi Opera House are partnering to bring a September Concert Series.
There will be three featured events (Classical, Folk, and Jazz) at the Delphi Opera House.
September 19, 7 pm: Christopher Layer & Liz Carroll
(Scottish smallpipes etc) is an extremely diverse musician. His orchestral appearances include: The National Symphony (Kennedy Center), The Alabama, Detroit, Lafayette, Knoxville, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Muncie, and Richmond Symphony Orchestras, as well as The Aspen Festival Orchestra, and The Bard Festival Orchestra. Festivals include: Moab Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Bard Music Festival, Festival Internacionale de Louisianne, Musiksfest-Regensburg, BDR, The Bard Festival at Lincoln Center.
September 20, 7 pm: The Vivaldi Project
Praised for its brilliant and expressive playing, The Vivaldi Project presents innovative programs of Baroque and Classical string repertoire that combine scholarship and performance to both educate and delight audiences. The period instrument ensemble takes its name from the virtuoso violinist and innovative composer Antonio Vivaldi in recognition of his pivotal position between earlier Baroque and later Classical composers.
September 22, 3 pm: Mark Ortwein Jazztet
Mark is a Yamaha Performing Artist on saxophones and bassoon, and is also a D’Addario Woodwinds artist. A versatile performer, Mark plays all the saxophones, clarinets, flutes, and bassoons. Mark has studied bassoon with William Winstead at CCM, Matt Ruggiero at Boston University, Crawford Best at Loyola University. Mark also studied saxophone with Paul McGinley, Garvin Bushell, Craig Yancey, Jeff Barash, and has studied woodwind doubling with John Reilly.
