Cabaret, the musical by John Kander, Fred Ebb, and Joe Masteroff is coming up at the Nancy T. Hansen Theatre. John Clare spoke with Amy Lynn Budd about the Purdue Theater production opening Friday, February 17th.

Amy Lynn Budd is currently Visiting Assistant Professor at Purdue University. Prior to starting her MFA, Amy directed, performed, and taught in Providence, Rhode Island for sixteen years. She directed regional and world premiere productions at Perishable Theatre, Brown University's MFA Playwriting program (under the leadership of Mac Wellman and Nilo Cruz), Contemporary Theatre Company, All Children’s Theatre Ensemble, and others.
Amy was a 2006-09 Resident Artist at Perishable Theatre where she developed a full-length performance work, The Thing that Ate My Brain…Almost. It went on to tour to Austin, Texas and Washington, DC.
As a teaching artist, Amy collaborated on dozens and dozens of performances annually from 2001-2013. She taught acting and playwriting; directed plays by and for first through twelfth graders; and worked from the ground up with students, using academic content as a basis for ensemble-devised works.
