International Overdose Awareness Butterfly Release Event

International Overdose Awareness Butterfly Release Event
In honor of International Overdose Awareness Day, we will host our 4th annual community event to commemorate the lives lost to overdose. For the third year in a row, more than 100,000 people in the US lost their lives to a fatal drug overdose.
These events play a crucial role in raising public awareness about the devastating impact of drug overdoses on individuals, families, and communities. They are an opportunity to remember those who have lost their lives to drug related causes and to acknowledge the grief of their loved ones. International Overdose Awareness Day also aims to promote evidence based strategies for overdose prevention, such as increasing access to naloxone, improving harm reduction services, and expanding treatment options. Shining a light on this critical issue, we reduce the stigma and foster compassion and support for those affected.
We will hold a brief ceremony and time of remembrance followed by the release of 164 individual butterflies.
Everyone is welcome.
