Indiana health officials announced Friday the first recorded flu-related death this season. The patient was young than 18-years-old. Flu season runs from October to May, but Indiana has only seen an uptick in cases in recent weeks.
In a statement, Indiana State Health Commissioner Kris Box, said Hoosiers should get vaccinated.
“I encourage anyone who hasn’t gotten a flu shot to get one to help protect themselves and their loved ones,” Box said.
