Private sector employment in Indiana grew by ,300 jobs in June – the third month in a row of significant increases.
Most of the growth came from the manufacturing sector. Still, the statewide unemploymentrate increased slightly to 8.4% during June.
Unemployment increased in Tippecanoe and surrounding counties last month. The largest increase was in Tippecanoe County with a 1.4% jump. Unemployment is now at 8.6%. White County has the lowest jobless rate at 7.6%, while Fountain’s rate is highest at 12.4%.
Lafayette’s jobless rate grew to 8.7%, while it’s up to 6.4% in West Lafayette.
