The WBAA Classical 101.3 and WBAA News 105.9 tower will be undergoing major work starting on March 7th to enhance and strengthen the tower. The work is expected to continue until approximately March 30th. Most of the work will be done while the stations are at full power, but there will be times where we will need to reduce power or be off the air so that crews can work safely. We thank you for your patience while this work is completed. You can still listen to WBAA Classical and WBAA News online or via the WBAA mobile app.

Indiana Rental Assistance Applications Now Open

Hoosiers who don't live in Elkhart County, Hamilton County, Lake County, Marion County, the city of Fort Wayne and St. Joseph County can apply for rental assistance at IndianaHousingNow.org (Screenshot of IndianaHousingNow.org)

Hoosiers in need of help paying their rent can now apply to the state for assistance.

Households are eligible if at least one person qualifies for unemployment, had income loss during the pandemic, incurred significant costs or experienced a financial hardship over the last year.

The household income must also be no more than 80 percent of the area median income – for a family of four, that’s about $58,000.

Applications are now available at IndianaHousingNow.org for people in most counties.

However, Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority Director Jacob Sipe said there are also local rental assistance programs.

“Those municipalities include Elkhart County, Hamilton County, Lake County, Marion County, the city of Fort Wayne and St. Joseph County," Sipe said.

Sipe said people who live there must apply for help via their local governments, not through the state’s application.
