The Greater Lafayette community is weighing in on how to make the area better.

More than 60-people shared their ideas on business, entertainment, and transportation during a forum Wednesday.

Next Generation received about $90,000 to assess the community’s needs.

Community of Choice Co-Chair Mike Piggott says one area he is hearing a lot of ideas about is development along the Wabash River.

Three other community input sessions are scheduled for Thursday including from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Lafayette Brewing Company.

A final report from is expected within the next eight weeks.

The company has worked with similar communities, including Columbus, Ohio.

They say they have noticed positive changes there, including the area’s ability to attract and retain young professionals.
