Fire Destroys Five Homes In West Lafayette's Lindberg Village

Five different fire departments responded to a multi-home fire in West Lafayette's Lindberg Village neighborhood Friday afternoon, which West Lafayette Fire Chief Tim Heath says began around 3 p.m.

The blaze leveled five structures and melted the siding on at least two more, though firefighters say all of the occupants of the homes were evacuated without injury. Additionally, no firefighters are believed injured as a result of battling the flames.

The homes all occupy the southwest corner of Tesla Drive, and Heath says one of them was vacant at the time of the fire. He could not say immediately where the fire began or identify its cause.
