WBAA’s John Clare talks with Erin Easter and Mark Molter, organizing members of the Uptown Jazz And Blues Festival in Lafayette. They’ll discuss this year's musical acts, what you can expect to eat and drink, and how it has grown over the last 11 years.
The Uptown Jazz & Blues Festival is Lafayette’s last summer festival of the year. There is "cool jazz, smoking hot blues, and the smell of barbecue" as festival goers meet at the Historic Fifth Street Market District.
UJBF was established in 2005, and has become one of the premier music festivals in Indiana. It incorporates local, regional and national touring acts - literally setting the stage for a unique community gathering. Local brews and eateries add to the "evening’s hip, upscale vibe."
This year's schedule includes: Jason Wells Band with Gibson Wells, Naughty Professor, Liquid Soul, Tuxedo Junction, The Michael Kelsey Band, Tizer Quartet featuring Eric Marienthal, Caitlin Cotten Combo, Brent Laidler & the Dream Team, and The Claudettes.
