This week on WBAA’s Ask The Mayor: West Lafayette’s city council discussed whether to ban the use of facial recognition technology at their meeting on Monday. Some council members raised concerns about the technology's use and its racial bias, while others pointed to it as an important tool of law enforcement. Regardless, Mayor John Dennis has said he will veto the ordinance if it comes to his desk.

We’ll discuss the future of the Alpha Tau Omega frat house, the city’s move to embrace Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and get the mayor’s perspective on new political district maps approved this week by the state. We’ll also talk about when the city council will return to in person meetings.
