The state Board of Education is providing resource guides for Indiana’s teachers to help them develop curricula around the state’s new academic standards, which go into effect this fall.

At a state board meeting Monday deputy state superintendent Danielle Shockey presented the resources which include sample math problems and an optional reading list that meets English/Language Arts standards.

The resource guides live on the Department of Education’s website, and includes outside links to websites with additional teaching resources. The website also provides resources for parents and community members so they can help students as they adjust to the new standards.

The online guides will serve as a living document, and will be updated as higher education institutions, teachers and parents provide further input.
