Harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani will perform Thursday and Friday nights at Duncan Hall for Purdue Convocations. WBAA's John Clare spoke with Esfahani about travel, repertory, and audiences.

Learn more about the concerts here. These performances are limited salon engagements, with the artist and audience seated in close proximity for "an exclusive, extraordinary recital experience. Seating is general admission and ticket requests will be filled in Friends Priority Point order. A cash bar of wine and beer will be available."

“This pugnaciously voluble 34-year-old American harpsichordist of Iranian parentage makes waves by playing contemporary works that are noisy and far from polite. It’s true he plays Bach and Rameau, like a normal harpsichordist, but with a hair-raising rhythmic energy and freedom, prefaced with onstage talks where words tumble out with dizzying speed.” Ivan Hewett, The Telegraph
