Approximately one-third of adults describe their relationship with siblings as rivalrous or distant. One definition of sister “is the girl that will always be there for you – she may or may not be related to you, and could just be an amazing friend, but no matter what, is always slow to judge and quick to forgive.”
We’ll hear from two amazing sisters, Katia and Marielle Labequeon today’s What’s New.
Our guests today have appeared on PBS, and are friends with Madonna – yes, that Madonna (see video below)! Katia and Marielle Labeque are sibling pianists renowned for their synchronicity and energy. Their career started at an early age and rose to international fame with their rendition of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue and have since developed a stunning career with performances worldwide.
Last spring, The Labeque Way was released on dvd/blu ray - a wonderful look at the sisters and incredible concert footage as well.
