The Red Barn Summer Theatre will premiere “The Cottage,” a side-splitting farce by Sandy Rustin on
Wednesday, June 25th at 7:30 p.m. The show will run from Wednesday through Sunday for two weeks. The
Cottage closed on Broadway in 2023, and the Red Barn is excited to be the first venue to offer this show in the
Midwest. “The Cottage” is the story of Sylvia and Beau, who once a year leave their respective spouses for a
romantic rendezvous in an English country cottage. While Sylvia dreams of a life together, Beau is not as
enthusiastic about the idea. Complications arise, and the deception is compounded as both Sylvia’s and
Beau’s spouses arrive unexpectedly at the cottage. This uproariously funny show is packed with hilarious
twists, bold physical comedy, and a joyful ending for everyone. Red Barn Artistic Director Michael Taylor will
portray Beau,; while Chicage-based actor Katherine Abel will play Sylvia. Kiara Wood will play Marjorie, and
Deidre is played by Kody Horrocks , Ben Brickner will play Richard, and Matthew Reich plays Clarke. The
Cottage is directed by Luke McLaughlin, Red Barn Associate Artistic Director. For the 'Opening
Night’ performance, NHK Seating of America will feature Frankfort native Gibson Heather’s Flowers Music
Stage Gibson will perform from 6:15 to 7:15, and the Cellar will be offering adult refreshments during that
time. The Pump will also be offering cold drinks and a variety of snacks. New this year Zachary‘s Candy and
Glover’s Ice Cream have been added. The Red Barn’s production of “The Cottage” is sponsored by Zachary
Confections of Frankfort. Tickets are available online at redbarntheatre.net, by calling the Box Office on
Wednesday through Saturday from 5 pm-9 pm, or by visiting the Box Office in person during those hours. The
Red Barn Summer Theatre was founded by Martin and Carol Ann Henderson in 1968.
