The Claudettes return to People's Brewing Company in Lafayette, IN Tuesday August 4th, 2026!

Six albums into their lauded career, the Claudettes continue to put a fascinating spin on American roots music. Blues and R&B are laced with punk spirit and film-noir moods to create the band's singular "garage cabaret" sound. The Claudettes have earned worldwide acclaim with their recordings and concerts full of heart, musicianship and theatrical flair. Force-of-nature vocalist Rachel Williams (who dominates the stage like a glam-rock rebirth of Annie Lennox) and renowned pianist/songwriter Johnny Iguana join the mighty rhythm section of Zach Verdoorn (bass, guitar, vocals) and Michael Caskey (drums). Outside the Claudettes, Iguana has toured with Junior Wells and Otis Rush, played on many Grammy-nominated albums and recorded with Buddy Guy, Derek Trucks, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Johnny Winter and more. Johnny is also composer of the score for the Emmy-winning smash FX/Hulu series "The Bear" and has released two solo albums on iconic blues/jazz label Delmark Records.

Nine Irish Brothers Traditional Irish Pub hosts a community trad session Wednesday evenings at seven pm. Trad sessions--short for traditional Irish sessions, are a community-led participatory event in which local musicians bring their instruments and play traditional Irish music. Musicians who play Irish instruments or who are striving to learn are welcome to join in, and all members of the community are welcome to enjoy the music and ambiance.

WHO: All are welcome! No experience or partner needed.
WHAT: Learn dances led by a caller, dancing to live music with a group of people!
WHERE: 333 Meridian Street in West Lafayette - enter through the playground gate
WHEN: Second Saturday of the month at 5:30PM for beginner lesson, dance from 6-8PM
WHY: It's good for your mental health--let's build community!
HOW: Dances are made possible through sponsorship from Indiana Fiddlers Gathering and participants who give what they can ($5-20) to support our caller and band.

What is Contra Dance?
Contra dance is a form of folk dancing made up of long lines of couples. A caller leads the dance, teaching the steps and calling out moves. It's great fun for all ages.
Unlike some other social dances, contra is a group activity. Over the course of each dance, you interact with everyone in your contra line. Your partner is like a teammate, moving with you up and down the line.

Sparrow Smith and the Resonant Rogues return to People's Brewing Company Tuesday August 18th! Beautiful and sometimes dark, this will be an amazing night of roots and folk inspired by sounds from their home in Appalachia and traveling around the country performing.

Rooted in the mountains of Western North Carolina, The Resonant Rogues are fronted by songwriting duo Sparrow and Keith Josiah Smith, who share a passion for movement and sound. Before meeting, falling in love, and forming the band in 2013, both traveled extensively throughout the U.S.- Keith by hopping freight trains, Sparrow with a circus troupe. In addition to their holler homestead, New Orleans and Nashville are their other musical homes, and the influences of both can be felt on The Resonant Rogues self-titled fourth album. The sounds of Appalachian old-time, classic country, and vintage soul all make appearances in this stunner of an album

Doom Scroll describes its acoustic punk sound as “aggressive, melodic punk/crust wave” with complex instrumentation and layers of harmonies knitted from decades of music appreciation and performance.

Hans Gruber and the Die Hards are an energetic, Austin, Texas-based punk, ska, and skacore collective. Formed in 2014, the DIY band is known for their breakneck tempos, socially conscious lyrics, and theatrical live shows, which feature a rotating cast of over 30 musicians and elaborate sock puppets.
The band was established by core members Kurt Armstrong, Rosey Armstrong, and Chris Thompson. Their chaotic, genre-bending sound frequently blends traditional ska with hardcore punk, Latin, Cumbia, and folk influences..
