Indiana University Health Rescheduling Elective Surgeries

Indiana University Healthwill begin rescheduling elective surgeries and medical procedures at its hospitals due to the spread of the new coronavirus.

According to a statement released Monday, a range of patient appointments will also be rescheduled or performed “virtually”. Those include visits for primary care; physical, occupational, and speech therapy; and health screenings and imaging.

IU Health said visits for newborns and children under the age of two would continue in order to complete immunizations.

On Sunday, IU Health also began restricting the majority of visitors from coming to hospitals.

On Tuesday morning, the Indiana State Department of Health announced a second death in the state from COVID-19.
