Fifth COVID-19 Case Reported In Tippecanoe County

Another Tippecanoe County resident has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Tippecanoe County Health Department announced the fifth person to be diagnosed with the novel coronavirus has no recent travel history, and is self-isolating at home. Two of the county’s five cases had recently returned from international travel--one person from Paris, another from Aruba

 

Purdue University confirmed Tuesday a student had also tested positive for COVID-19. The county’s first positive case was confirmed after the resident traveled to Florida. 

The Fountain-Warren County Health Department also announced the county’s first COVID-19 case in a Facebook post Wednesday. The department, which serves two counties, had recommended more stringent self-isolation measures for local residents who had recently traveled to higher-risk areas for COVID-19. 

As of Thursday morning, the Indiana State Department of Health had reported 477 positive cases statewide, and 14 deaths. Marion County had the highest confirmed total of cases Thursday, with 226;  Hamilton County followed with 30, and Johnson County with 24.
