The Lafayette Parks Department has a new snowmaker machine.
It’s a gift from the Olson Community Endowment Fund through the Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette.
Parks superintendent Claudine Laufman says the snowmaker replaces the old machine that quit working last year.
“Definitely a lot faster!” she says. “The maintenance workers who have been operating this machine say it’s really no comparison.”
Laufman says it takes about eight hours to cover the sledding hill at Murdock Park with the man-made snow.
