Landscaping plans being made for WL detention pond

Work continues on the detention pond at the corner of Lindberg Road and Northwestern Avenue in West Lafayette.

Public Works Director Dave Buck says the plantings closer to the road will be ornamental.

He says others will function to filter things such as sand, oil, and grit from the water before it reaches the pond.

Buck says there are also safety features being put in place to keep people out of the area.

He expects the landscaping to cost at least $50,000.

Buck says once this phase of the project is complete, plans are to extend the trail that dead-ends on Lindberg up Northwestern, eventually to Wal-Mart.
