Indiana Legislative Black Caucus lists education funding, gun control as priorities

Members of Indiana's Black Legislative Caucus say they are ready to back measures that reduce gun violence.

The group released its legislative agenda yesterday.

The caucus has not developed a specific proposal for gun control, but says it plans to participate in debate on the issue.

The group is proposing the complete restoration of funding cuts to K-through-12 education made during the recession.

And members say they want to ensure banks work with homeowners and small businesses hit hard by the recession, but those efforts will consist more of talking with banks directly than introducing legislation.
