Monthly Conversation With Mitch Daniels: Student Protests And Acceptable Risk

For much of the last week, students have been camped out in Purdue University’s administration building, hoping for a meeting with President Mitch Daniels.

They’ve got demands about how the school handles diversity that they want met before they leave. But it’s unclear whether the president will see them.

On this edition of WBAA’s Monthly Conversation with Mitch Daniels, we ask if their demands are reasonable and we hear what steps the president is definitely NOT willing to take.

Also on this month’s program, are the policies of the Donald Trump administration antithetical to the way an American public university should be run?

For instance, Purdue is training young thinkers to shape the way companies work in the future, but the president was elected by a plurality of Americans who want their old way of life back, rather than having to re-learn how to live their lives.

Oh, and there’s discussion on today’s show of the climate science Trump has called a hoax.
