Guerrilla Girls 9/13 Preview
The Guerrilla Girls speak this Thursday at Purdue University. They are feminist activist artists who for over thirty years, have worn gorilla masks and used facts, humor, and outrageous visuals to expose gender and ethnic bias, as well as corruption in politics, art, film, and pop culture. Their motto or tagline is "Guerrilla Girls could be anyone because they are everywhere."
WBAA's John Clare spoke with "Frida Kahlo," a member who has been with Guerrilla Girls from the start.
The lecture with Guerrilla Girls takes place Thursday, September 13th at 7:30pm. It is free and open to the public, but passes are required. There's more information here.
There is also an exhibit on dispaly at the Ringel Gallery through September 22nd about the Guerrilla Girls.
